Outback  just the word alone conjures up visions of our hardy pioneers that travelled our harsh interiors. On horse back by tray and cart and then in some of the early cars. Today we are a bit more fortunate that we have good vehicles and equipment to take us into the harsh interior. The outback as we call it here in Australia

But even with all this modern technology and great vehicles, people still seem to get themselves in trouble int that harsh environment called the outback.

I sometimes think to to all this marvellous equipment that we have available, the thing that seems to have gone by the wayside is common sense and the ability to improvise. Some of us have become so used to others ” the so called experts” doing things for us that we have lost the ability to have a go ourselves and learn those required skills.
